The Baughan Group was formed and purchased Coal Age – a manufacturing and underground machinery rebuilder located in West Frankfort, IL.
1996
The Baughan Group purchased Robertson Inc. – a national mining parts replacement company located in Princeton, WV.
1998
The Baughan Group expanded internationally with the purchase of South African Companies Salchain and Swasap.
1999
The Baughan Group purchased Gauley Sales Company – a supplier of mining machine replacement parts and components located in Hico, WV, blending with Robertson Inc. to form the new company Gauley-Robertson.
2000
In April, 2001 Gauley Robertson negotiated an agreement to represent EIMCO as its exclusive distributor of all mining parts for Non-OEM equipment. In August, 2001 Gauley Robertson purchase all assets of the Mining Parts Group of Morgantown National Supply. These transaction positioned Gauley Robertson as the largest supplier of aftermarket parts for the underground mining industry.
2001
Coal Age opened a new facility in Powellton, WV – servicing the Eastern Region with new and rebuilt shuttle cars as well as new and rebuilt battery powered scoops.
2002
Moved the Powellton, WV Coal Age shop to a newly renovated shop on the Hico, WV campus. Coal Age became CAI Industries specializing in New OEM shuttle cars and OEM battery scoops.
2007
The Baughan Group purchased RiJa Machine – a modern machine shop located in Oak Hill, WV specializing in the manufacture of precision gearing, shafting, sprockets and related replacement parts for the mining industry.
2014
The Baughan Group acquired the assets of Phillips Machine Service – a company founded by brothers Jack and Jim Phillips in 1976 that matured into one of the largest full service companies of its type in the industry, involved in almost all phases of repairs, remanufacture, fabrication, development and sales of mining machinery. This acquisition positions The Baughan Group Companies to provide new OEM mining equipment, machine rebuilds and refurbishments, replacement parts, service exchange components, gear manufacturing, and support to the international underground mining community.
